CentOS Project shifts focus to CentOS Stream

Open source projects are something we cherish a lot at Trontan Solutions. We support and donate to a lot of open source projects that we use.

Value matters a lot to us. A lot of open source projects align with our values and CentOS is one of them. We use CentOS as our server OS like many other enterprises, for its rock solid stability and also for its predictable behavior and performance.

CentOS Stream is a rolling release OS that contains comparatively newer packages than CentOS itself. The availability of newer packages in CentOS Stream may make it a little less stable than CentOS. The project shifting focus on CentOS Stream says that it is going to kill support for the recently launched CentOS 8 at the end of 2021 where it actually should have ended in 2029.

It is the trust from people like you that drives Trontan Solutions forward. We have at most responsibility in maintaining your servers secure, stable and highly responsive. We will do that like we always do, perfectly.

We have already started testing the stability and compatibility of CentOS Stream and other enterprise level operating systems to provide you the same level of quality that we do. We will keep you posted.

Thank you for your love and care. Love you 3000.
